Hello! So I came to see the tank today. The stock manager was there cleaning the tank, and I asked about the goby. He says he doesn't know what happened to it, and suggested that it died and the other fish ate it (someone had mentioned it previously had nibbled fins). I mentioned the shrimp, and he said those die (or get eaten. I can't remember exactly what he said) all the time. The coral with two dead sections he said has been like that for a while, and when I mentioned that 82-83 degrees seemed a bit high, he said it just had to be in the green zone on the thermometer (it's at the very top of the green zone). He then had me help polish the tank and clean part of what I assume was the filtration system. After he left, I started taking pictures of Scootaloo again, and he saw me and told me to stop. I said I already had plenty, and he said I needed to get rid of them. I said they were already on the internet, and he told me to remove them. I replied that I did not think that was possible, and he insisted it was. Scootaloo looks about the same from the last time I posted a photo on the 25th. Good news though, the stock manager said they're fed brine shrimp, not krill. If anyone could give advice on what kind of snails to give Scootaloo, I'd be most appreciative! Thanks everyone!

THE FISH WERE STOLEN!!! The goby, both shrimp, AND SCOOTALOO have disappeared without a trace. The stock manager accused me of doing it, which I didn't. I don't even have a salt water tank (why would I keep a large tank in a dorm?) The woman who originally bought the fish and the man who had agreed to help believe me. Obviously, I am very upset about this. Anyone know how to catch a fishnapper? I know I have nothing to worry about, because I'm innocent, but I'm concerned about the fish.

Do you think the stock manager might have taken them...perhaps so he doesn't have to bother with you anymore? The whole thing seems very odd to me, especially when considering the fact that it was the exact fish you were concerned about. Plus, most of the people who know about the tank are probably in the exact same situation you are- no place to put a large saltwater tank. Very odd indeed...

That's weird.
Try looking around local fish shops- or at least call and ask if anyone brought in.. whatever Scootaloo was. :s I can't imagine he'd have anything to do with her but take her to a fish store.

I don't know anyone with a saltwater tank. There are some people who are living off campus: I doubt anyone has a large tank in the dorm. I don't think it was the stock manager: the first ones to disappear were a goby and a shrimp, which I hadn't pestered him about. I just hope someone's taking good care of them. This has to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever encountered. Who steals fish?

There is one fish store in town, but they only have a few salt water fish. I'll call them anyway. Thanks everyone!

Just called the store. No one's turned them in, but she has the stock manager's number, and call him if someone comes in with them.

I found one of the shrimp in the live rock. The stock manager saw me by the tank, and I said I thought the fish might be dead. He said that's probably what happened. When I asked, crying, why he accused me of theft, he said he hadn't (technically, that's true. He just heavily implied it and told other people his suspicions). Then he said what was he supposed to think with me harrassing him (I went to his office a few times in the past month and a half. Mostly I just sat by the tank, and sometimes I would remind him of my concerns when he passed). His voice had risen by this time, and he said that he takes good care of him and didn't need someone telling him what to do. Then he said he was going home, and left me crying by the fishtank.
