no I'll try hear what I was going to reply to what is your insistence that it takes a very large refugium
I'm also trying to reply on my phone which isn't working too well.
My 55 gallon tank had a refug that was 1 third of the tank with a very heavy by load no nitrates no phosphates and ran for 8 years with soft corals also. No water changes .
Stability was provided by the macro algae directly consuming ammonium breaking up dangerous parameter spikes.
