she won't eat

I havve a puffer who has gone completely off her food. She is lethargic and seems bored. She is alone in a 40 gallon tank do you think she needs company or a doctors visit?

What type of puffer do you have. Reason asking, some are freshwater, some brackish, and others saltwater fish.
Can you give us more details about your tank and water. How does it test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph? What foods have you been feeding the puffer? The more info you can give, the better.
