Exclamation Mbo Puffer layin on his side

Help! We have had our Mbu Puffer for a year +, have a 400L tank -all the other tropical fish are happy. Fed him yesterday and ever since he has been laying on his side hardly moving at the bottom of the tank. Our Aquatic chap we always use say he has prob eaten too much but I am worried. Anyone had this before?
Thank you

Hi there, is he showing any signs of stress? Grey or black tummy or mid line and black around his mouth, tail curled round or clamped fins? I've got one who gets stressed for no reason at all and does this regualrily (think hes just neurotic!) If it's out of character keep a close eye on him, hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along and help you. Good luck and hope it's all OK

Thank you for your email : He is literally laying on his side as if asleep, almost lifeless. His tail is still straight - colour normal - was fed today. He moves now and then and I put my hand in to stroke him and I could hold him and he didnt puff up but did try to move away successfully. I's so awful seeing him like this if anyone has any idea's please please help me -- thank you

that tank is WAY too small... it was only a matter of time before this happened.

it needs more than 1000 liters +++ some say 4000+ liters

you wouldn't keep a dog in a box it can barely turn around in, would you?

If you think I am too abrasive there is a little triangle icon in the bottom left of your screen to "report post".
