Does my stars & strips puffer have ich?

Not sure if the pelvic, dorsal, and anal fins are suppose to be uniform yellow because mine has salt speckling to them reminiscent of ich appearance. The puffer is doing well now but had a stressful acclimation 3days ago. Also, it's eyes are cloudy but so are the eyes in every stars& strip puffer photo i ever saw...thanks for any help you give me

Good luck

I know there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this forum and I wish you the best in luck getting any answers and help treating if needed. My beloved friend, a dog face puffer started showing signs of Ich that I could see a couple days ago. Last night I was able to get him into QT to begin treatment but I fear it's too late. I doubt he will pull through. This fish has been in my family for over 5 years and was passed down to me. Through my own negligence, I did not properly QT any new fish and now my friend is paying the ultimate price for it.

Just keep in mind that a healthy fish will not get ICH, so I'd say there some something not visible on him to begin with. And, what proceedure are you using? I recommend Hypo Salinity.

Spots on the fins is an indicator of malnutrition. Feed him a few times per day, see how fast those dots go away. Marine ICH should appear on his body.

+1 look at the gills also. Are they inflamed and red??

If you think I am too abrasive there is a little triangle icon in the bottom left of your screen to "report post".
