I have always found it helpful to google information about a particular fish BEFORE,, I consider purchasing it or accepting it from others. Fish could care less how we feel about them,All they want is proper food and water conditions.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

I'm sorry, if you will look down a few threads then you will see I went into detail there, by the way I got no response for that one.

Hi, my puffy passed away this morning. I found out the water was not hard enough but everything else was fine so as far as clean water is concerned it was crystal clear. All I needed to do was put some coral rock in the filter. Thank you for your advice though.

Be aware that coral chips or rock may have to be cleaned with warm water occasionally. Tapwater is fine for this. Coral chips will become covered with bacteria, algae,or silt over time and thus lose some of their effectiveness. Same thing happens with activated carbon. Once it has absorbed as much dissolved organics as it can ,,it becomes a place for bacteria(good kind) to gather.
You could simply replace the coral rather than wash it,but you will have to decide which.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
