biocubes and puffers?

I recently fell in love with GSP at the local walmart...(although I have no plans to purchase from them as they have them set up in freshwater. LPS has them in brackish as should be).

I plan to purchase/hope to get a 29 gallon biocube for my birthday in Feb from family and friends, and I want to set it up for a single GSP. I see many saying they need a 55 gallon tank for themselves, but I don't have room for another 55 gallon...I already have two set up for my cichlids and will be setting up another one so I can rescue a pair of parrot cichlids from an aunt who has two babies in a 10 gallon (oy...)

Does anyone have experience setting up biocubes for GSP? I'm new both to biocubes and puffers, so looking for any advice. I originally intended to use the biocube for a saltwater setup but I just can't get those dang cute personality-loaded GSP out of my mind!

My Tanks: 120g, 90g, 55g, 29g, 20g, 10g, 10g, 3g, 5g

A 29g biocube is going to be pretty small for a GSP. Perhaps you should look into a smaller puffer species, such as a Figure 8? You could put 2-3 Figure 8's in a 29g, so long as you had plenty of decor to make distinct territories.

Yeah with puffers espescially overstocking is no way to go. But you could probably even get a couple of figure-eights in there, provided they don't fight.

Drats...I just don't have room for anything bigger and not as attracted to the 8s. Was hoping with just a single GSP it would be enough room. What is the minimum size tank to keep them happy? All my other tanks are blissfully happy and happy fish makes happy owner :)

I think a 40g breeder would be great for a GSP.
