Exclamation New To This Site - Need Help W/Figure 8 Puffer!

Hi! I'm new to this site but I need help! Last night I was given a figure eight puffer from a friend who no longer wanted it. I took the existing rocks/gravel & water from their tank (where the puffer came from) and put it into my tank. It's a 20 gal tank & the puffer is alone.

After getting the tank set up, I fed the puffer (and he ate just fine). Today, he has just been sitting on the bottom of the tank (and has been there all day). I have NO idea what to do! It is still 1.006 SG (like it was in it's original tank) & water temp are the same as the tank he came from.

I am at a loss! Please help!

So, you swapped tanks out. What are your water readings now though? Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates?

So far, so good - ammonia & nitrites are at 0. I still have to test for nitrates (will do that later today).

ditto ... environmental changes can cause stress for the 48 hrs +

Try leaving the lights off for the first few days and see what happens.

If you think I am too abrasive there is a little triangle icon in the bottom left of your screen to "report post".
